About the role

Our People & Safety team is looking for a Training Advisor to join their supportive team.
In this role, you will get to do what you love - coordinating the training and compliance framework at Port Nelson. You will get to work collaboratively with managers, trainers, and assessors across the Port to ensure the effective delivery of our on-the-job training and New Zealand Certificate programmes. 

You will enjoy stretching and developing your existing training knowledge to create training initiatives within both the compliance, personal development and Well-being space. We have a varied team at Port Nelson who work in a safety sensitive environment so variety is a given in the role. 

About you

If organisational and planning skills come naturally to you, along with the ability to build solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders you will thrive in this position. 

Communication is key to success in this role. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to influence and work collaboratively in a team to drive business outcomes. You will be computer savvy, with the ability to pick up new systems and processes with ease.

You also have:

  • Proven experience in training coordination and delivery of in-house training;
  • Good eye for detail, continually striving to improve resources and systems;
  • Passion and initiative to really understand our business and people; and
  • An adult teaching or related qualification would be an advantage or passion for development in this area.
