Port Nelson is the maritime gateway for the top of the South Island and a vital hub supporting the region’s continued economic growth and prosperity.
We’re a 24/7 operation with shifts commencing any time of the day or night, between the hours of Monday 0001 to Sunday 2359. Our major clients are the forestry, horticulture, aquaculture, automotive, food and wine sectors. Our Port is pumping so we need more experienced people to join our team.

Something About You
First and foremost, you will be someone who is fully focused on safe work practices and the care of cargo. You have a minimum of 2 years’ proven Container Stevedoring and Warehousing experience and skills.
Other important stuff about you:
You have a high level of physical fitness (the role involves vanning and devanning containers and securing cargo on ships)
It will also require you to demonstrate our ASPIRE values – Accountability, Safety, Passion, Integrity/honesty, Respect and Excellence.
We offer a great working environment along with a minimum hourly rate of $27.73 per hour when working in QuayPack (Warehousing) and $31.75 when working in Stevedoring.
